Sun fun and hair dye!

Yesterday was a beautiful day! It seems like Rexburg has finally let summer happen. For now at least.
Sariah and I spent it cruising around with the windows down on the way to the lake.
Where we sat for hours relaxing, eating Jack in the Box and soaking up the lovely sun.
It's just amazing how a day in the sun can make you oh so happy!
(waking up today with a tan helps too)
We even saw the lochness monster!
See! It's Nessie!

Then we came back and I dyed my hair. Yup! Y'all heard me right....always said I never would, but it's just the ends of my hair.
They are now turquoise :)

Oh Father's Day!

Happy Father's day to all y'all! But especially to my Pops/Daddio. My PD.
To put it simply, I adore him. He is one of the funniest people I know. When I was young I used to never admit it and I'd roll my eyes. Truth is-he's hilarious, and he knows it.
Moving away from home opens your eyes to how much you love your parents (as you've seen from the latest blogs) and I am just so blessed to have the parents I have.
My dad is sweet, loving, comforting, funny and spiritual. He is strong and there for me every time I need him.
He lets me complain about things I can't really change.
He lets me question him about pointless things.
He talks to me about tv shows and our theories about what is going to happen in them.
He talks to me about Harry Potter.
He always answers my texts.
And he tries to keep my head from floating to far into the clouds.
He's wonderful.
We have so much fun together and I adore him.
I LOVE YOU POPS!

Bill Cosby and my something new

On Thursday Sariah, Michelle, Kevin and I went to see Bill Cosby on campus. Yes.. that is right...BILL COSBY! This guy...
In the flesh! It was kinda fantastic! I grew up listening to him with my family and I just adore him. His performance was hilarious of course and it even lasted for about an hour and 45 minutes. My brother didn't believe me at first just because it was such an awesome thing! And it was only 15 dollars! Talk about amazing. Cause it was. I love him.

Next thing I did...on Friday was the game night that I promised my brother I would go to. It....well....it didn't turn out well. We wandered around the building looking for it for a while (while I was drinking my bacon flavored soda...which was also interesting. It definitely did not taste like bacon, I'll be honest, it was not very good. But it was definitely worth the try and the story. I later spilled it on a table in the commons...so I'm sure that smells pretty nasty.) and then found the game night in the commons area. There were only 4 people there and they were...interesting. They were playing some intense and confusing game. It was interesting. So that was a fun experience. I suppose. How's that for you Jake??  Then we left and enjoyed some lava cakes and parmesan bread bites while watching tv. Oh the fun that we have.

It's been a while, or at least it feels like it, and I have quite a bit to tell you! Where to start...where to start...

-Jake! My brother. He is amazing. We had a nice long chat earlier this week. We chatted about me staying at school for the summer (more on that later) he was close to convincing me to stay here actually, that's quite the accomplishment. Mostly because he made me believe more in myself, and sometimes it's nice to be reminded that I'm not a total weirdo and that people should think I'm fun or cute. Then he made me promise (more like bribed or threatened really...) to go to something this weekend I never would have gone to. He said until I did I wouldn't be able to Skype Kahlan. Which is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Because she is precious. I just want to cuddle her. So I found something to do, tomorrow night Sariah and I are going to a Game Night on campus. Definitely not something I would do...We don't know anyone going and I'm not always into games or group game things. So we'll see how it turns out I guess.

-As stated earlier, I decided what to do about going home. I GOT MY TICKET TO FLY HOME FOR THE SUMMER! Yup, it's official. My Mom and I chatted about it and it's decided and we found a ticket for only 358! So it worked out wonderfully!

-The day I was trying to decide if I wanted to go home kinda sucked and I was crying and a mess. Then I got a wonderful and sweet letter in the mail from Jameson. It included a drawing he drew of me and it's now hanging on the wall next to the other one. It was amazing and sweet and happened to come at just the right time :) Thanks again Jameson.

-Tonight I'm going to see Bill Cosby. Try not to be too jealous....IT'S GOING TO BE AMAZING!

Okay, I guess there wasn't actually that much. Or I forgot some of it, which is very likely. Oh well, this is it for now! I'm off to see Bill Cosby. Hope y'all had a lovely Thursday!

This is the picture Jameson drew me. He's amazing right?

My latest realization

I had a sudden realization the other day...I have had the most random jobs ever. Full of random things I had to know how to do. Let's start from the beginning...

14 years old I was at my first job making advent Christmas houses with my neighbor. It required super gluing small windows or knobs, rolling over paper to make the bricks, painting, hanging paper up ALL over the backyard and all that random stuff.

15-18 years old I worked at Blue Moose Movies. Even the name is random. But it was awesome! It was a small little video store. It was cute and kinda cozy and I spent a lot of time there...even if I wasn't on the schedule. I worked with some of the COOLEST people ever and I loved it. I worked with one of my good friends Jonathan the whole time. I worked with Rachel and Megan for a little bit. And I became good friends with Stef. It was wonderful and full of A LOT of GREAT memories.

16 years old I also had another job at Juice Shop. Which with the way I talked, always sounded like I was saying "Jew Shop" and I always had to explain myself and talk slower. We made smoothies and it was delicious. I got to work with Amanda a lot and even Rachel some. (Yes, the same Rachel from Blue Moose...we were best friends...what can I say?)

19 years old I worked at American Gold Companies...being a sign waver. Which I also always had to explain what that was. I danced on the corner of the street waving a sign around and dancing to music while wearing gold pants. Honestly, it was not as terrible as you think. I'm even hoping to go back. It was actually quite fun. I got to listen to music, I got a nice tan, I had some really funny stories about what people would say to me while walking or driving by and when I took breaks in Burger King everyone was super nice and some people even bought me lunch!

And now still at 19 years old, I work at the Paint Shop on campus. I just touch up walls and paint around the inside of campus buildings. The people I work with are cool and the hours are relaxed and up to me with no set schedule. I even see people I know sometimes. It's pretty fun and relaxed and rumor is we are doing "shop shakes" this Friday and all making milkshakes.

I've learned A LOT of random skills through these different jobs and yet, you never know when you'll need to use it!
